7 Days Ngorongoro Crater Highland Adventure Trekking

DAY 1: ARUSHA – NGORONGORO CRATER – NAINOKANOKA MAASAI VILLAGE

Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at 8.30am,drive to Ngorongoro Crater, descend in to the Crater floor game viewing with picnic lunches en-route to Nainokanoka Maasai village, Ngorongoro is one of the true wonders of nature and home of Rhinos, Elephants, Lions and many other species. Dinner and overnight Nainoka Noka at Maasai village.

DAY 2: NAINOKANOKA MAASAI VILLAGE - OLMOTI CRATER - BULATI CAMP

After breakfast start trekking 1 hour to Olmoti crater, view the crater and continue trekking 5 hours to Bulati Masai School. Have a lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at Bulati Maasai school.

DAY 3: BULATI – EMPAKAI CRATER

After breakfast, you will walk pole pole (slowly -slowly)about 6 hours up and down  through the beautifully scenery, viewing the magnificent Maasai plains, and Maasai mountain of God, to the rim of Empakai Crater, have a lunch at Empakai crater rim. After lunch descend in to Empakai crater floor (very steep) buffalos, water buck, reed buck, and different species of birds can be seen at the close range, during the walk around the lake.  Late evening ascend to the rim for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: EMPAKAI CRATER TO NAIYOBI

After breakfast you will walk about 5 hours and enjoy the magnificent view of high lands.  On the way you will see many small bucks like Thomson gazelle, dik dik, and different species of birds, passing to the traditional Maasai bomas. Your guide will tell you about local Maasai culture and daily life late afternoon arrive at Naiyobi campsite for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: NAIYOBI – ACACIA CAMPSITE

After breakfast leaving in the morning before the sun is hot continue trekking for 5 hours to Acacia camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: ACACIA TO MTI MMOJA – LAKE NATRON

After breakfast trekking to follow the winding paths across bars volcanic rocks, the path rounding the north western floor of  Oldoinyo Lengai still active volcano Maasai Mountain of God. After one hour of trekking you will find our car waiting for you and drive you to Kamakia campsite for lunch, after lunch visit the Lake Natron to view the flock of Flamingoes and other species of water birds, Munge thundering water falls, dinner and overnight at Kamakia campsite.

DAY 7: CLIMB OLDONYO LENGAI, MAASAI MOUNTAIN OF GOD

Wake up at midnight hours, have a cup of coffee, pick your picnic lunch boxes, get to the car and drive to the starting point of climbing Mt Oldonyo Lengai – MAASAI MOUNTAIN OF GOD.  Arrive to the summit and 5.30am, enjoy the sunset and the beautifully views of the Serengeti plains, Maasai plains, Mt.Kilimanjaro and Mt. Longido and enjoy the volcanic eruption, then walk down to your car and drive to the Kamakia campsite for lunch. After lunch drive back to Arusha.
